Describe an interesting neighbor

  • Who this person is
  • How you know this person
  • What this person likes to do
  • And explain why you think this neighbor is interesting

Sample Answer

I would like to talk about one of my neighbors who I find particularly interesting. Her name is Kim, and she has been living next door to my family for as long as I can remember.

I first got to know her better during the COVID-19 pandemic, when people had to spend most of their time at home. During that period, we started having small conversations over the fence, and gradually I realized that she was a very warm and fascinating person.

She is currently around 54 years old and has recently retired. Despite her age, she is still extremely active and energetic. Every morning, she wakes up very early, often at the crack of dawn, to prepare homemade breakfast such as sticky rice and bánh mì, which she sells at a small local market nearby. Apart from that, she is also passionate about gardening. Her small front yard is always filled with herbs, vegetables, and colorful flowers.

Another thing she enjoys doing is helping other people in the neighborhood. From time to time, she organizes small charity activities to support low-income families in our community. She also frequently shares vegetables from her garden or homemade food with neighbors.

What makes her particularly interesting to me is her positive attitude toward life. She always greets everyone with a warm smile and creates a friendly atmosphere in the neighborhood. Thanks to her kindness and generosity, many people on our street feel more connected to each other.

Overall, I think she is an inspiring person because she shows that simple acts of kindness can bring people closer together and create a strong sense of community.
